JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
Job Description:
As a Field Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the honeybee farm. Your primary role will be to ensure the health and productivity of our bee colonies, supervise farm workers, and coordinate activities related to beekeeping, honey production, and maintenance.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily operations on the farm.
• Manage beekeeping activities and ensure the health of the hives.
• Coordinate and supervise field workers.
• Conduct inspections of hives regularly.
• Implement best practices for honey production.
• Monitor and manage pest control strategies.
• Maintain records of honey production and hive conditions.
• Ensure safety protocols are followed by all staff.
• Assist in the training of new employees.
• Collaborate with management on farm improvements.
• Schedule and manage crew assignments.
• Resolve any issues that arise on the farm promptly.
• Supervise the loading and transporting of honey.
• Prepare reports on farm performance and productivity.
• Ensure compliance with agricultural regulations.
• Maintain positive relationships with local vendors.
• Develop and implement strategies for efficiency.
• Keep abreast of industry trends and advancements.
• Attend workshops and training sessions as needed.
• Cultivate a team-oriented environment among staff.
• Ensure high standards of cleanliness and maintenance on the farm.
• Any other tasks deemed appropriate by direct report manager.
Requirements:
• A degree or diploma in agriculture, environmental science or a related field is preferred.• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in beekeeping, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Must have UAE Driving license.
• Strong knowledge of beekeeping practices and honey production.
• Ability to identify and manage bee diseases and pests.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Strong organizational and record-keeping abilities.
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
• Physical fitness and ability to work in outdoor environments.
• Experience with sustainable or organic beekeeping practices.
• Familiarity with modern beekeeping technology and equipment.
• Knowledge of local flora and their impact on honey production.
