JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

Our client is one of the leading Banks in the Middle East looking to set-up a regional office based here in Dubai. Working in a small office and reporting directly to the CEO, you will be involved in all aspects of this growing entity.

1) Setting up the accounting function in line with Head office procedures and maintaining the daily financial accounting function, including but not limited to the P&L, B/S, cashflows, bank reconciliations and the banking relationship, cash management, expense claims, vendor contracts and payments, HQ reporting, regulatory reporting, liaison with auditors (internal and external) and with head office.
2) Maintaining HR records and processes and liaising with group HR on various staff issues, visas etc.
3) Liaising with outsourced compliance officer/group compliance on client files and head office & regulatory requirements.
4) liaising with head office risk and internal audit functions on any requirements.
5) Setting up, monitoring and implmenting vendor contracts for all aspects of the business. (IT, research etc)
6) Working with the CEO on global roadshow planning and client access strategy.
7) Setting up adequate controls and recordkeeping procedures to satisfy audit requirements.
8) Assist in the preparation of board presentations.
9) Dealing with all aspects of the physical office premises.
10) Working with the CEO in respect of any other matters that arise relating to general operations.

As the work expands, there is scope to add an assistant.

Package on offer: 25,000 - 30,000 AED plus benefits

REQUIREMENTS

- University or College Qualification
- Some accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, AAT or other). We will consider exceptional candidates who are QBE. The interview will test accounting knowledge in some depth.
- Banking/Capital markets/Accountancy/Consulting backgrounds are desirable.
- The key requirement is 'right attitude' to working in an unstructured start up environment, within a multicultural city and working environment, someone who can function without the stimulation of a larger office, someone with attention to detail and common sense.
