JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

Largely Autonomous with day to day operations expected to be handled by the incumbent, supported by the Assistant Quarry Manager & Junior Production Manager who will provide cultural and operational support as necessary. Provide assistance in daily Crushing Plant operations whilst complying with current Legislation & Company SHE and Quality Systems.

SHEQA Responsibilities
- Comply with and implement the Company SHE and QA Policies, Procedures and Manuals. Responsible for liaising with your Line Manager before taking the appropriate actions to ensure compliance with the SHEQA policies and procedures e.g. closing the plant if you believe that it is not safe to operate, etc. Ensure that Risk Assessments and safe system of works are in place and understood before commencement of site activities.
- Ensure all products are produced with the Quality requirements directed by technical staff. Report any poor-quality material to onsite technical staff and removed to a designated area.

Operational Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily production activities according to the production plan. Produce Monthly Cost Projection reports for area of responsibility. Ensure manpower and resources are adequate to meet production targets. Supervise the use of machinery and equipment. Report on progress to Assistant Quarry Manager on a regular basis. Plan and implement daily and weekly maintenance schedules. Ensure production materials are stockpiled in the designated areas.

Commercial Responsibilities
- Ensure daily sales orders communicated by the weighbridge are followed quickly and effectively. Produce Monthly Cost Projection reports for area of responsibility.

Administrative Responsibilities
- Plan and implement daily and weekly maintenance schedules in combination with the Junior Manager, Workshop Manager Maintenance and other coordinator.

REQUIREMENTS

Job-related person specifications
- Technical Knowledge about Quarry operations
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role

Educational or equivalent requirements
- High-school Diploma, preferably a Degree Holder

Job-related knowledge and experience
- Knowledge of SHE, QA, Product knowledge and Technical awareness.
- Knowledge of site specific SHE procedures and rules (including basic introduction of Health and Safety Policies and Procedures Manual).
- Knowledge of all relevant job-related rules contained within the Health and Safety Policies and Procedures manual (e.g. Managers Rules, Personal Protective Equipment, EMS, etc.)

Desirable
- Multi lingual speaker, First Aid, Maintenance Experience, Health and Safety Supervisory qualification

Job-related skills
- Ability to produce concise accurate reports
- Good organisational and management skills.

Language Abilities (Spoken/ Reading / Written)
- Good communication skills in English, Speak – Read – Write & Hindi – Speak

Computer Skills (Microsoft Office, Excel, Email Communication, Analytics, Data Visualisation etc)
- Good level of PC & Microsoft skills

Specific experience
- Working knowledge of Quarry Production, plant and materials.
- Understanding of customer requirements.
- Effective communication with both internal and external customers.
