Position summary
The head of internal audit leads the group internal audit function across multiple business entities. The role ensures effective governance, risk management and strong internal controls. It provides independent assurance to senior leadership and strengthens transparency, accountability and operational efficiency across a diversified portfolio.
Key responsibilities
Strategic leadership and governance- Develop and implement a comprehensive risk-based group internal audit strategy aligned with organizational goals.
- Define and enforce the internal audit charter, policies and methodologies in line with IIA standards and UAE regulations.
- Advise the board and audit committee on governance, compliance and enterprise risk.
- Lead and mentor multicultural audit teams to ensure excellence and continuous improvement.
- Deliver the annual audit plan across financial, operational, compliance and IT audits.
- Assess internal controls and risk management frameworks for effectiveness.
- Ensure accuracy of financial and operational information across all business units.
- Present audit results with actionable recommendations and track closure status.
- Partner with business leaders to identify and mitigate emerging risks.
- Support control design for new systems, projects and processes.
- Promote ethical conduct, corporate governance and compliance culture.
- Stay current with UAE laws, IFRS updates and industry best practices.
Requirements
Qualifications and experience- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or commerce. Master’s preferred.
- CIA required. CPA, CA or ACCA mandatory.
- Minimum 15 years internal audit experience with 5 years in a leadership role in GCC.
- Experience with diversified groups including construction, contracting, manufacturing, hospitality or real estate.
- Strong strategic thinking and audit planning capabilities.
- Effective multicultural team leadership.
- Strong risk evaluation and analytical judgement.
- Highest ethical standards with independence and objectivity.
- Thorough knowledge of UAE legislation and governance.

Compensation and benefits- AED 40,000 to 50,000 monthly salary based on experience.
