Description

Functional roles and Responsibilities:

* Prepare the Internal Shariah Audit Manual and the Annual Shariah Audit plan
* Ensure IFI's compliance with Islamic Shariah
* Ensure the effectiveness of the internal Shariah supervision and assess the products, services forms, contracts, agreements, and other related matters are approved by the ISSC
* Conduct regular field audits to the IFI's internal and external departments and branches
* Prepare a report of the outcomes of the Internal shariah
* Act as Audit Engagement Leader and take the responsibility for overseeing the planning and execution of the audit including shariah audits.
* Ensure that audit work is executed within given budget and timeline and comply with the GIA methodology standards.
* Explain any risks and impact of the issues identified during testing to GIA and business management
* Manage relationship with senior auditee management and stakeholders
* Lead the team for more complex audits like cross-functional and multi-location high risk audits
* Assist in drafting the audit report in the GIA report review process
* Support in risk assessment on a regular basis to ensure that changes in the risk profiles are identified in a timely manner
* Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct this includes understanding and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, and the Group Code of Conduct.

REQUIREMENTS

* Minimum a bachelor's degree in Islamic Finance
* At least 10 years of Experience in Shariah Audit
* Middle East experience is required
* Fluent Arabic speaker
* Experience working in a bank
