Key Responsibilities
- Develop and automate Dabacon E3D and Tekla interface processes for engineering, integrating with enterprise engineering systems (Aveva, Autodesk, Trimble, and in-house).
- Responsible for liaising with engineering SMEs to identify requirements for business process improvement and defining the Requirement Definition Specification.
- Translate the requirement specifications into Aveva and E3D/PDMS automation using the best practices defined by Aveva, Trimble, and Petrofac GMS (Global Business Management System).
- Train end users and roll out the developments as standard methodology across projects, preparing relevant GMS procedures.
- Manage the process of change with respect to E3D/PDMS and Tekla automation routines, carry out impact analysis prior to implementing the change, and support end users for User Acceptance Testing (UAT) process.
- Experience in Tekla modeling and steel detailing.
- Provide clear plans and goal setting in managing the assigned activities.
- Solve problems and troubleshoot critical issues on E3D/PDMS projects.
- Engage with software vendors and stay up to date with the latest version of the application.
- Interface with clients and JV partners to manage project delivery.
- Deliver the engineering vision as set by the Manager - Business Systems Delivery.
- Provide strategic support and input into the overall engineering vision and development plan.
- Interact with other team members, other offices, and engineering SMEs regarding AVEVA DABACON, PML, Tekla, and interoperability related issues and requirements in terms of new or existing automation.
- Analyze the cases according to the GMS guidelines, resolve conflicts/issues, and guide the design team.
- Bachelor of Engineering degree from an accredited college or university with 10+ years of experience in a 3D automation role in a head office environment.
- Understanding of business processes from FEED to EPC and having worked in the oil and gas industry.
- Preference will be given to candidates who have business process know-how and development in Tekla in addition to expertise with 3D tools.
- Knowledge of engineering activities in relation to 3D systems.
- Excellent knowledge of E3D and PDMS automation, customization of catalogs, drawings, libraries, and standards.
- Knowledge of DABACON data structure.
- Comprehensive programming expertise using PML, PML.NET, C#, and SQL queries.
- Creation of APIs, scripts, or new features for a wide range of products such as Trimble, Autodesk, or any other in-house products.
- Must be able to work independently and play an active role in the team, developing PML codes and interfaces as per GMS standards and Petrofac best practices and norms.
- Able to develop logic to integrate E3D/PDMS with other products and legacy systems.
- Knowledge of Aveva ERM, Navisworks, Tekla, and its metadata.
- Knowledge of CAD applications such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, and systems such as smart plant tools.
- Develop and maintain Corporate Standard Project Setup.
- Prioritization of business demand and scheduling.
- Strong problem-solving capability with a proactive and logical approach.
