JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
We are looking for an experienced and talented IT Support Engineer to join our firm in Dubai.
Job Responsibilities
IT Desktop and Application Support
• Install hardware and configure laptops, desktops, monitors and printers
• Install and configure Windows, Mac iOS and Linux operating systems
• Install and configure MS Office, ERPs and 3rd party applications
• Provide technical support for diagnosing, troubleshooting and fixing hardware, software, operating systems problems
Network and Telephony
• Install and configure firewalls, routers, switches, LAN, WAN, WLAN and Wireless Access Points
• Configure and manage operation of PABX/IP Telephony systems
• Provide technical support for diagnosing, troubleshooting and fixing network and telephony problems
Servers and Backup Support
• Install, configure and manage operation of Email Server
• Install and configure Windows Servers, Active Directory and Backup Servers
Business Continuity and Security
• Continuously monitor the health status of IT systems and services to ensure compliance with the latest security updates
• Install, configure and manage operation of Windows Update Server, Anti-Malware Server, Proxies and Secure Web Servers
Physical and Software Access Provisioning
• Manage employee access rights, accounts and passwords on the computers and peripherals Similarly, setup new user’s accounts and profiles on various systems
• Provide technical support for diagnosing, troubleshooting and fixing physical and software access problems
IT Inventory and License Management
• Document and maintain an updated inventory of all hardware, software and licenses to ensure optimal utilization of IT capabilities
• Manage an inventory of spare parts and hardware for timely replacement of faulty equipment to ensure smooth business operations
IT Project Implementation
• Manage and implement multiple IT and security projects
Reporting and Documentation
• Create documents for IT policies, processes, procedures and training
• Document software and hardware installation steps, and lessons learned from IT incidents
• Prepare IT projects progress reports
REQUIREMENTS
IT Skills
Desktop & Application Support
• Excellent knowledge and experience in Windows (10, 8 and 7)
• Moderate knowledge and experience in Mac iOS and Linux
• Excellent knowledge and experience in MS Office (Office 365, 2016, 2013) Outlook and Excel
• Moderate knowledge and experience in HRMS, Accounting and CRM software
Server, Email and Telephony Support
• Excellent knowledge and experience in configuration of Windows Servers (2012, 2016), Hyper-V, Active Directory, Group Policies, Domain Controllers, WSUS, File and Print Servers
• Good knowledge and experience in either of HP or Dell server configuration, Backup Jobs, Disk to disk Backup, Site to site backup
• Excellent knowledge and experience in MS Exchange or Office 365 Exchange Email Servers
• Good knowledge and experience in either of Cisco or Alcatel PBX/IP Telephony systems
Network and Security Support
• Excellent knowledge and experience in either of Fortinet, SonicWall or Juniper Firewall
• Excellent knowledge and experience in either of Cisco, HP or Huawei Routers, Switches and Wireless Access Points
• Excellent knowledge and experience in Anti-malware solutions such as Kaspersky or Sophos
• Moderate knowledge and experience in Web proxies and Secure Web Gateways such as Symantec, Cisco or Bluecoat
• Excellent knowledge and experience in Email security solutions such as ProofPoint or Cisco
IT Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or equivalent
• Certified in Microsoft Server or Desktop such as MCITP, MCSE, MCTS, MTA or MCSA
• Certified in Cisco Networks such as CCNA, CCDA or CCNP
• Certified in Information Security such as Security+ or CISSP
Working Experience
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in IT Desktop and Server Support
