Our client, one of the fastest growing public safety and security solutions organisations globally, is looking to recruit a qualified and experienced IT Systems Administrator to their UAE team. As the portfolio of infrastructure / civil projects across the Middle East continues to expand, so too does our employer, a leading provider of public safety and security solutions. Looking to expand their ranks and with long term prospects providing stability and career development, our employer is seeking to welcome a professional and experienced IT Systems Administrator for their multi-billion dollar infrastructure project. As a key member of the IT Team, you will be responsible for installing, configuration and maintenance of a complex distributed application at our client sites. Tasks include IT administration, network engineering and application support.

Reporting to the IC Project Manager, this role is responsible for the following:

• Maintain and monitor networking infrastructure related to the specific project
• Maintain and monitor SAN storage infrastructure related to the specific project
• Liaise with the customer team for specific operations
• Maintain the documentation base
• Install and maintain software prerequisites including operating systems and applications
• Install, maintain, monitor and configure main application in the project
• Identify, evaluate and solve end-user problems related to the application performance as well as usability issues
• Master new computer technology
• Maintain cooperative working relationships
• Demonstrate sensitivity to, and respect for, a diverse population
• Work under the guidance of the IC Project Manager
• Serve as around-the-clock contact for all related support issues, providing first level support
• Continuous self-study to improve knowledge related to application specifics and subject matter

REQUIREMENTS

The attributes we seek for this pivotal role include:

• Bachelor of IT or comparable and at least 4+ years’ experience with computers and networking. MSCE Server experienced with CCNE preferred.
• Windows Server 2008, 2012, Microsoft Active Directory, Server Hardening, Clustering , Firewalls, Load Balancing, Citrix , Blade Servers, SAN Storage and Backups, DB Oracle and OFS, (RAC configurations an advantage)
• The ability to write scripts (Power SHELL, bash)
• Excellent performance tuning and trouble shooting skills
• Networking: TCP/IP, WANS, LAN, DNS, DHCP, VLANS, subnetting and implementation abilities
• Working knowledge of UNIX/Linux operating system.
• Ability to work well in a matrix team environment
• Team player and a natural networker with a high level of presentation skills
• Strong problem solving skills, ability to understand and identify key strategic issues
• Demonstrates initiative and creativity by originating, anticipating and implementing new ideas
• Ability to work independently on most aspects of projects and multi task.
