JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
Our Tier 1 Main Contracting Client has a new requirement for a well experienced Joinery Design Manager to join their team in Dubai to work on high profile new build projects. Successful candidates will have a proven background as an Joinery Design Manager working on high profile projects (value 50-200 Mln) in the UAE with preference given to those with prior experience in high profile projects for recognised Main Contracting Companies
This role is available for immediate joining and is an initial 6 Month Contract position employed as an outsource candidate through J10 Consulting.
There is an option to transfer to staff after 6 months to suit all parties
Key Responsibilities:
• The successful candidate will be responsible for translating design concepts into precise, buildable shop drawings while maintaining alignment with project requirements, technical standards, and timeline constraints. This involves coordinating with the site team, production team, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of joinery and interior design elements.
• Technical Coordination:
• Interpret design intent, architectural drawings, and specifications to produce accurate shop drawings for custom-made furniture, wood paneling, cladding, ceiling features, partitions, skirtings, doors, and frames.
• Generate exploded views, sectional details, joinery techniques, material layer build-up, and assembly guidelines.
• Prepare accurate Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and material take-offs based on approved drawings.
• Site Coordination and Dimensional Verification:
• Conduct site visits and take actual measurements prior to fabrication and installation.
• Cross-check architectural and MEP drawings to identify clashes, discrepancies, or dimensional mismatches.
• Coordinate with site engineers and construction managers to ensure that design execution aligns with approved drawings.
• Quality Control and Compliance:
• Ensure that all drawings and materials comply with international joinery and furniture standards, local authority regulations, and applicable standards.
• Identify non-conformities and propose technical resolutions.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.• A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in joinery design management, with at least 2 years focused on high profile projects.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, and knowledge of Revit, 3D max or SketchUp is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of joinery details, materials, and fabrication methods.
• Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
• Excellent coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills
Salary:
AED
20,000 to 25,000
per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
