JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
Junior Accountant UAE and UK - Tax and Accountancy Services
- Prepare year-end financial statements, balance sheets, and profit and loss statements. Liaise with external regulators and provide information required for auditors' reports.
- General Bookkeeping for the production of management accounts. Support clients in drawing up detailed financial budgets; cash flow statements, and revenue/cost analysis are the other leading keys.
- Preparation and submission of VAT returns and Statutory Accounts.
- Management of Payroll and related end-of-the-year declarations. Drafting of employment contracts and further advice on dealing with employees.
- Managing the clients’ bank accounts, i.e. payments for customers and suppliers, and general administration duties.
- Acting as a point of contact for tax authorities, dealing with new queries and ensuring that any HMRC or FTA inquiries are managed promptly and effectively.
- Conduct independent client listening and attend client relationship reviews with the senior accountants. Implement any actions required to respond to client feedback.
- Review applications for Corporation Tax & VAT registrations and ensure compliance with filing quarterly returns, annual accounts, and tax returns.
- Perform company secretarial duties, including drafting minutes, maintaining statutory books/registers, and lodging required forms.
- Stay updated on changes in regulations, laws, and accounting practices in the UK and the UAE relevant to our services.
Requirements:
- Minimum of three years in accountancy practice or related environment.- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master's degree is a plus).
- A relevant qualification (ACCA, ACA or CIMA) is highly desirable.
- Solid knowledge of accounting principles, laws, and regulations.
- Ability to work autonomously and handle client inquiries in a timely and precise manner.
- Accurate and detailed oriented.
- Able to deal with client enquiries in a timely and precise manner.
- Confident and Team Player.
- Flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in MS Excel and accounting software (QuickBooks and Xero).
- Strong understanding of the UK and UAE markets, local business practices, and regulations.
- Fluency in English. Knowledge of Italian and/or Spanish is highly desirable.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the UAE and occasionally internationally.
