JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
- Perform structural design and analysis calculations using governing codes and standards, engineering formulas, skills, experience and as required by the Lead Engineer. This includes analysis, calculations, research, selection, layout, etc., necessary to develop required design documents.
- Coordinate design efforts with other project personnel in the same or other departments.
- Provide drawings for own designs and produce sketches to incorporate in drawings by Designers/Drafters and direct and supervise Drafters activities related to own work.
- Review shop drawings for conformance with project criteria and requirements.
- Complete additional duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in Civil, or Structural Engineering
- Preferably with Masters in Structural Engineering from a reputed university.
- Preferably with 1-2 years experience in bridges and tunnels design.
- Adept in using structural computer softwares/applications such as STAAD, SAP2000, MATHCAD and Office applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Conversant with local and international codes such as AASHTO, BS5400, IBC, BS 8110, ACI 318.
- Good planning and organization skills.
