JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
Job Purpose:
The Chemist’s responsibilities include analysis and reporting of tea samples, testing of caffeine contents, etc., and coordinating with external laboratory for testing parameters.
Job Responsibilities:
Responsibility 1: Instrument
- Operation and handling of instruments such as pH meter, HPLC, AAS, IR moisture analyzer, Muffle furnace, Oven, incubator, etc.
- Upkeeping of equipment related to AMC, calibration, and maintenance.
- Upkeeping of instrument records, breakdown, and spare parts records.
Responsibility 2: Documentation
- Knowledge of Good laboratory practices, preparation of SOPs, and preparation of test data sheets.
- Knowledge of laboratory safety related to handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals.
- Issuance of certificate of analysis.
- Inventory management related to chemicals, glassware, and spare parts.
Responsibility 3: Testing
- Analysis and reporting of tea samples as per SOP.
- Testing of caffeine content using HPLC, moisture analysis, Ash content, heavy metals using AAS, etc.
- Analysis of microbial tests such as Anaerobic count, yeast and Molds, coliforms, and E.Coli. ATP swab test.
- Coordination with external laboratory for testing parameters such as Pesticide residue, water analysis, swab analysis, and any other tests required.
Requirements:
- M.Sc. in Chemistry/Food Chemistry.- Minimum 8-10 years’ experience in a reputed industry preferably Pharma & food industry.
- Preferably knowledge in caffeine content, heavy metals analysis, and moisture analysis. Proficient in MS Office programs: MS Word and MS Excel.
- Should be flexible enough to Adjust to the dynamics of the Production Environment in FMCG. With confidence to respond positively when under pressure. Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Team-working skills to work cooperatively and liaise with people at all levels.
- Preferably between 25 - 35 years old.
Salary:
AED
4,000 to 5,000
per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
