Wood is recruiting for a lead electrical engineer to join its UAE business unit focusing on assigned electrical engineering work scopes for a major onshore brownfield project in Dubai, UAE. This role is a full-time office-based role in Dubai, UAE, with occasional trips to Iraq.

Wood has been awarded an onshore brownfield project to support an international client operation for delivering FEED, detailed design, procurement, construction, and commissioning services. This project focuses on enhancing degassing stations, optimizing flare systems, and integrating low-carbon solutions to support our client's energy transition and emissions reduction goals.

Key objectives
Assume sole responsibility for assigned electrical engineering work scopes
Perform assurance reviews of electrical packages and detailed design documents generated by third party EPC contractors
Perform electrical discipline detailed design work activities for field development of oil and gas production facilities
Plan, budget, organize and control a segment of the electrical engineering deliverables for the project
Prepare electrical deliverables for all phases within an oil and gas industry project
Ensure that all work is completed without compromise to quality and is delivered according to the project schedule
Provide direction and guidance on all electrical engineering technical queries raised by either internal or external parties
Liaise with the client's engineering, operations and maintenance staff as required to ensure a consistent approach to project completion
Provide sound technical advice and solutions to a diversity of technical problems within the discipline
Co-ordinate with other disciplines during all stages of design development, construction, pre-commissioning, and start-up
Assist in the coordination of all activities related to electrical engineering design
Promote safe behaviour at all times
Identify any areas of concern with respect to progress and/or quality and recommend corrective actions as required

Expected:
Degree qualification in electrical engineering
Minimum of 15 years' experience in the oil and gas industry
Minimum of 6 years proven capability in an engineering design company
Experience of participation in EHAZOP, ETAP, HAZOP, HAZID and SIL rating studies
Experience working with multi-national and multi-cultural project teams is strongly preferred
Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage
Familiar with the typical software packages that are used for electrical engineering design
Thorough awareness of relevant international codes and standards
Membership of a recognized professional institute preferred
