Legal Counsel

JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

The role will sit in an established legal department focusing primarily on the company's e-commerce business, supporting diverse, cross functional and multi-jurisdictional initiatives.

Description

* Provide expert legal advice and guidance on a wide range of operational, regulatory, commercial matters relating to e-commerce mandates- with focus on consumer and IP protection
* Support the business in understanding and complying with legal and regulatory requirements when launching and operating new products and initiatives
* Review, draft and negotiate commercial agreements relating to digital and e-commerce platforms
* Partner with local and international stakeholders across the e-commerce and wider cross-functional teams such as privacy and public policy, setting appropriate priorities and managing legal risk

REQUIREMENTS

* Strong academic background, with preference to those with legal qualification in a common law jurisdiction
* 3-6 years post qualification experience with IP, consumer protection and other regulatory requirements within the e-commerce space
* Preference to those with some in-house experience in an international or industry relevant organisation
* Solid drafting and negotiation skills with strong presentation and communication skills
* On-the-ground experience will be advantageous
