JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

Job Specifications:

Provide legal advice:
- Provide sound legal counsel and commercial support to business management and executives on non-trading transactions with clients, suppliers and other 3rd parties.
- Provide commercial support to service and business units for internal projects and intercompany agreements.
- Manage the legal and contractual aspects of a variety of complex services contracts and projects from pre-sales to project conclusion

Contribute to bids/proposals:
- Provide legal counsel and commercial support to the Bid Management team on medium complexity client and/or vendor proposals and transactions.
- They ensure the consistency of commercial, legal and risk management across the region.
- They may be required to engage with clients in ensuring the closure of contracts in line with Dimension Data corporate policies.
- They may also be required to draft, review and negotiate a broad range of contracts for medium to complex engagements including but not limited to RFP’s.

Manage legal risk

The Legal Manager:
- Works closely with the Risk Management team
- Contributes to the policies and procedures revision and development
- Contributes with insurance matters and corporate governance
- Analyses client contracts, business case law, legislation and regulatory matters as needed by management
- Identify and highlight risk to management
- Provide advice and contribute legal information on more complex matters
- The Legal Manager will escalate variances from contracting policy or unusual risks and will remain abreast of legal developments to update management and needed
- Synthesizes information for incorporation into transactional practices.

Coordinate legal activities:
- Coordinate and manage litigation issues on a regional basis.
- Ensure adequate visibility of management and statutory bodies.
- Act as liaison on all material litigious matters, disputes, acquisitions and disposals.
- Performs a co-ordination role for service and business unit legal resources.
- Drafts and negotiates various agreements, including software licensing agreements, maintenance and support agreements, managed services agreements
Ensure relevant documentation/reports:
- Ensure that all relevant information regarding legal matters is accurate and kept up to date.
- Ensure the documentation of progress against legal activities and provide regular reports on problem status to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
- They ensure the provision of status reports regarding the level of legal risk associated with any given area of the business.
- Assume responsibility for end to end contract administration.

Provide training:
- Provide training on corporate policies including code of conduct and corporate policies as related to risk management.
- This will also include educating management teams on legal and risk management issues.

REQUIREMENTS

- Legal Managers possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- They are confident negotiators who understand the key strategic priorities of the business.

Required Work Experience:

- At least 5 – 7 years' experience in a similar role within a global organization
- Bilingual Arabic speaker is preferential
