JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
Guildhall is partnering with a leading international contractor to recruit a Lifting Supervisor / Lifting Appointed Person for a major infrastructure development connected to the multi-phase expansion of Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC/AMIA) in Dubai. This long-term project includes significant substructure and foundation works and is part of one of the largest aviation expansions globally.
The successful candidate will oversee all lifting operations on-site, ensuring the highest standards of safety, compliance, and efficiency across critical construction phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and execute lifting plans, method statements, and risk assessments
- Supervise and coordinate all lifting activities, including cranes and heavy equipment
- Ensure compliance with UAE regulations and international lifting safety standards
- Inspect lifting equipment and verify all certifications are valid and up to date
- Plan, monitor, and control critical lifts
- Work closely with engineers, riggers, operators, and HSE teams
- Maintain comprehensive lifting documentation and daily activity reports
- Promote a strong safety culture on-site across all lifting operations
Project Background
The position supports the Phase 2 expansion of Al Maktoum International Airport, involving:
- Substructure and foundation works for the new 800,000 sqm West Terminal
- Infrastructure works to support a 14-station Automated People Mover (APM) system
- Long-term development scheduled through 2032, contributing to Dubai’s next-generation aviation hub with a planned capacity of 260 million passengers annually
Requirements:
- Valid LEEA Certification is required- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Lifting Supervisor or Lifting Appointed Person
- Strong technical understanding of lifting equipment, load charts, and crane operations
- Experience working on large-scale civil, infrastructure, or substructure projects
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work in high-risk operational environments
- Based in the UAE or able to join immediately
