JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

Charterhouse is working exclusively in partnership with an International Shipping company, which specialises in Husbanding, Fuel Supply and Logistics support to its maritime clients. Our client is looking to hire a Logistics Support Assistant to work closely with the team based from their regional headquarters in Dubai in collaboration with the global teams.

The Logistics Support Assistant role will be geared towards providing vessel operations support and facilitating cargo handling coordination. The role will focus on documentation management, maintaining and updating accurate documents related to port operations, including pre-arrival and post-arrival port clearance documents in compliance with regulatory requirements. The Logistics Support Assistant will serve as a point of contact for communication with internal teams, port authorities and other stakeholders to coordinate port activities and resolve any operational issues that may arise. The role would require preparing quotations with adherence to established procedures and forwarding them to the port agents.

The Logistics Support Assistant will also conduct reconciliations of financial transactions related to port operations, including invoices, payments, and receipts. In addition, the role would involve providing general administrative support to the port operations team, including scheduling meetings, preparing reports, and visiting ports when required.

REQUIREMENTS

To be considered for the role, the successful candidate would have prior coordination experience, ideally in port operations, logistics or related industries. Our client is looking to hire someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate organizational and multitasking skills, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. Knowledge of port operations, maritime regulations, and industry best practices along with proficiency in MS Office Suite and port management software would be an added advantage.
