JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
JOB PURPOSE:
- Directs and supervises the relevant discipline engineers of Contractor/ Consultant providing expertise and input on application of COMPANY and industry standards in the design and development during Project phases in a manner that achieves Project design requirements within the cost and schedule targets set by COMPANY
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review all relevant engineering deliverables prepared by Contractor/ Consultant
- Participate in relevant workshops providing expertise to ensure design is meeting project requirements
- Respond to technical queries from Contractor/ Consultant and others, as deemed necessary in respect to relevant discipline.
- Ensures safe, economic and technically sound decisions in all project phases.
- Verify that all discipline deliverables are completed correctly and satisfactorily.
- Review requests for Design Deviations / Concession Requests proposed.
- Review technical content of variation order in the Project Contract.
- Participate in design review meetings.
- Review project specifications
- Review of relevant equipment design
- Review of engineering datasheets.
- Review calculations
- Fully understand COMPANY HSE policy, procedures, regulations, and objectives as they relate to area of responsibility.
- Ensures that work under control is performed in a safe and environmentally sound manner.
- Ensures thorough implementation in terms of execution concepts / impacts in terms of schedule.
- Ensures and manages change issues and resolve technical issues for smooth implementation of the Project
- Leads Inspection activities
- Follow up with the Contractor/ Consultant on daily basis and as required
- Performs additional work activities as directed by line manager
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS:- A bachelor's degree in relevant engineering or equivalent from an accredited university with a minimum of fifteen (15+) years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry, including minimum five (5) years, preferred in GCC region.
- Must have at least five (5) years of experience in similar position in a mega Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects. Should have experience in dealing and engaging a Main Automation Contractor for a project involving multiple EP contractors.
- Should know and understand the interface issues and has experience in resolving them amicably among multiple contractors.
- Should have ADNOC experience for Onshore and offshore assets and preferably H2S experience.
