Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Maintenance Director to oversee the maintenance operations of our facilities and equipment. The ideal candidate will lead a team of technicians, manage preventative and corrective maintenance programs, and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards. This role is critical to maintaining the functionality, safety, and efficiency of all physical assets across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans for all facilities, systems, and equipment.
- Lead, manage, and mentor the maintenance team to ensure high performance and accountability.
- Oversee building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, and security.
- Manage maintenance budgets, including forecasting, cost control, and procurement of parts and services.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Coordinate with other departments for facility-related needs and improvement projects.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance schedules, inspections, repairs, and inventory.
- Plan and supervise facility upgrades, renovations, or expansions.
- Develop and implement emergency response and contingency plans for facility operations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7+ years of progressive experience in facility and equipment maintenance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance procedures, and safety regulations.
- Excellent leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Strong project management and organizational abilities.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, manuals, and technical documents.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications such as Certified Maintenance Manager (CMM), Facility Management Professional (FMP), or similar.
- Experience in regulated environments (e.g., healthcare, manufacturing, education, hospitality).
- Knowledge of sustainability practices and energy management.
