The WSP Middle East Environmental team is currently seeking to recruit an experienced marine ecologist with a background in EIA preparation to be based in WSP Middle East - UAE or KSA offices and provide expert ecological support and advice across a range of projects. The candidate will be largely focused on marine and costal environmental projects and will be expected to contribute to any part of the project lifecycle.

Your new role, what's involved?
* and Providing technical advice, planning, and undertaking ecology surveys.
* Input into a range of ecological deliverables including; Ecological Management Plans, Protected Species Reports, Ecological Impact Assessments (EIAs), marine ecology-related chapters of EIAs.
* Client liaison and project management.
* Project manager and author of marine ecology focussed large-scale environmental projects including (EIA, SEA, CEMP, environmental emergency response strategies, and pollution prevention frameworks) for major projects across the region with a particular focus on KSA projects.
* An excellent understanding of the EIA processes environmental assessment methods and applicable planning legislation in the Middle East.
* Good understanding and practical experience with international lender standards.
* Experience in undertaking studies such as Critical Habitat Assessment.
* Experience in analyzing and modeling ecological data.
* Focus on management of marine ecology focussed on EIA, ESIA, SEAs, and similar studies with day-to-day management and coordination across a range of projects.
* Managing the preparation of marine ecology focussed EIA, ESIA, SEAs, and similar studies, including the technical review of specialist chapters
* Working collaboratively with design and planning teams to ensure environmental considerations.
* A detailed understanding of relevant environmental consenting and licensing requirements.
* Manage project financial performance and meet profit targets.
* Prepare and manage multi-disciplinary tenders and seek opportunities for new work.

REQUIREMENTS

We'd love to hear from you if you have:
* Postgraduate qualification in marine ecology, oceanography, or marine science.
* Good knowledge of ecological statistical analysis.
* Excellent report writing skills.
* Additional skills such as GIS, R, and MATLAB are desirable
* Experience in designing and planning surveys.
* Strong report writing skills, attention to detail, and ability to write concise reports in English.
* Strong GIS skills.
* Team player, with the ability to work comfortably within multicultural teams.
