JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
Our Client which is a Government Company is seeking a skilled and experienced Marine Pilot to join their team in UAE-Fujairah. As a Marine Pilot, you will be responsible for safely navigating and maneuvering ships through various waterways, ensuring the safety of the vessel, crew, and cargo. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of maritime regulations, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of piloting vessels in challenging environments.
Responsibilities:
- Conducting pre-arrival and departure briefings for the ship's captain and crew
- Navigating vessels through narrow channels, ports, and other waterways
- Communicating with port authorities, tugboat operators, and other relevant personnel to ensure safe and efficient vessel operations
- Monitoring and assessing weather, tides, and other environmental factors that may impact vessel navigation
- Providing expert guidance and advice to vessel captains to ensure safe and efficient maneuvering of the ship
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation of pilotage activities
Requirements:
- Hold a valid Marine Pilot license/certificate- Valid Certificate of Competency and Endorsement - (unlimited) Master Mariner (FG) of a Foreign Going Vessel issued by respective Government of his Nationality. (Should hold 2nd & Chief Mate before getting Master Mariner FG)
- Valid Endorsement attesting the Recognition of a Certificate under the Provision of the International convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watch keeping for Seafarers 1978 As Amended (If Certificate of competency of Master F.G – not issued by respective Government of his Nationality).
- Valid STCW certificates.
- Minimum five years’ experience of unlimited pilotage (including handling of VLCC) at Famous Ports
- In-depth knowledge of local maritime regulations, navigational routes, and port facilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Salary:
AED
16,000 to 17,000
per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
