Pediatric Emergency Room Physician

In this role, you will be at the forefront of healthcare, providing urgent medical care for children facing a wide range of acute and emergent health challenges. You will be expected to deliver care with both expertise and empathy, ensuring that every child receives the best possible treatment in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct prompt assessments and triage of pediatric patients in the emergency department.
• Diagnose and treat various emergencies including respiratory issues, trauma, and infections.
• Stabilize patients and perform necessary medical procedures.
• Work in concert with a team of pediatric specialists, nurses, and support staff.
• Provide clear communication to families about their child's care, treatment options, and progress.
• Document all medical care and patient interactions in the electronic medical record accurately.
• Stay engaged with continuous education and professional training opportunities.
• Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a pediatric residency or pediatric emergency medicine fellowship.
• Board certification or eligibility in pediatrics or pediatric emergency medicine.
• Active state medical license to practice.
• Experience in an emergency department setting is preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially with children and families.
• Ability to work under pressure and in fast-paced environments.
• Commitment to ongoing education and staying current with pediatric emergency protocols.
• Proficiency with electronic health record systems and pediatric emergency protocols.
