Job Title: Principal Engineer - HSE Design (Environmental)
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for producing deliverables such as Environment Design Basis/Philosophy, Equipment Noise/Noise Control Philosophy, Emission and Effluent Summary Reports, Atmospheric Pollutant Dispersion Reports, Flare Radiation and Dispersion Reports, Vent Dispersion and Noise Assessment Study, and Waste Management Plan.
- Organize and participate in workshops such as HAZID and ENVID.
- Perform dispersion studies and provide inputs pertaining to Stack and Vent Heights, Flare Height and Sterile Radius, and Acoustic Insulation for Noise Control based on Environmental Standards.
- Review Company ITT documents and provide Environment Engineering related inputs for EPC Proposals.
- Coordinate with other discipline and work center Engineers and ensure that the Company/Project Environment requirements/study recommendations are implemented in the project design.
- Prepare/review inquiry requisitions, technical bid evaluations, and purchase requisitions for specialist studies such as Environment and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) Studies, Greenhouse Gas Assessment, LDAR, and BAT Studies.
- Responsible for coordination with clients, regulatory authorities, consultants assigned to perform specialized studies, third-party certifying agencies, consortium partners, subcontractors, other discipline engineers, and the Project team.
- Monitor the schedule and ensure the environmental design activities are completed within the allotted manhours and schedule.
- Support the construction and commissioning field queries with justification notes and calculations.
- Review and approve vendor drawings/documents and Noise Datasheets to ensure the timely delivery of the documents.
- Participate in cross-functional and inter-office meetings to provide design inputs to the Engineering team.
- Proactively identify and mitigate technical risks during the project stage.
- Review and guide vendors, especially on noise, emission, and BAT requirements.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor/Master's Degree in Engineering with 15+ years of experience as an Environment Engineer for an EPC or an Environmental Consultancy company.
- Experience in preparation of Environment Design Basis/Philosophy for Projects, Preparation/Review of Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) Reports, Atmospheric pollutant dispersion reports, Noise Study, Flare Radiation and Dispersion Reports, Emission/Effluent Summary Reports, and Greenhouse Gas Assessment and BAT Reports for FEED/Detailed Design for oil & gas, Petroleum Refinery, Petrochemicals, and fertilizer industry.
- Hands-on experience of working with software such as Flaresim, AERMOD/ADMS, SoundPlan, and PHAST.
- Familiarity with 3D Model Software such as NavisWorks.
- Conversant with ISO 14001 Standard requirements.
- Good knowledge of international Environment standards (IFC/World Bank/USEPA/BREF documents).
- Good presentation, training, and communication skills and ability to independently interact with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong time management skills including the ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities.
- Effective technical report writing skills in English.
