Overview / Responsibilities
Wood is currently looking for a Principal Pipeline Engineer to strengthen our team in Dubai, with occasional trips to Iraq.

Wood is recruiting for a Principal Pipeline Engineer in Dubai, with occasional trips to Basra, Iraq.
- Contributing to delivery of Engineering excellence through:
- Executing assigned scopes of work.
- Supporting and supervising task delegation to team.
- Providing discipline support to the business

Process Ownership:
- Demonstrate understanding of and work to discipline specific procedures.

Subject Matter Expertise:
- Technically competent in own discipline and actively maintains own competence according to standards and pursues continuous professional development.
- Preparation and checking of FEED and Detailed design Pipeline scopes and related deliverables.
- Preparation and checking of Pipeline wall thickness calculations, stress analysis (CAESAR II experience) and expansion analysis
- Preparation and checking of Pipeline speciality Items specifications, datasheets, material requisitions and TBEs (i.e., Scrapper launcher and receiver, barred tee, line pipe, scraper signaller, induction bends, full bore ball and through conduit gate and check valves, isolating joint, pipeline flanged, fittings, chemical injection quills, Corrosion coupons, etc.)
- Preparation and checking of Pipeline Construction specifications, External coating and FJC, and SOW for construction.
- Preparation and checking of Pipeline survey Scope of work.
- Preparation and checking of Pipeline Crossing matrix.
- Preparation and checking of Pipeline Material take off and material requisitions, TBE, TQ & PO.
- Familiar with Scrapers station, BVS and associated piping design.
- Ability to manage vendor documents for speciality items like Scrapper launcher and receiver, barred tee, line pipe, scraper signaller (intrusive and non-intrusive), induction bends, full bore ball and through conduit gate and check valves, isolating joint, pipeline flanged, fittings, chemical injection quills, Corrosion coupons, etc.
- Package Engineer for Long Lead Items (LLIs).
- Familiar with design and construction metallic and non-metallic pipeline designs and its respective international codes.
- Provide discipline support to the business.
- Ensure self-awareness of relevant regulatory framework, legislation changes, initiatives and industry technology developments and promote to direct reports.
- Provide discipline input to scope definition and execution.

General:
- Deputising for Lead as required.
- Supporting and supervising tasks delegated to direct reports.
- Executing assigned personal objectives.
- Management of third-party suppliers in the execution of Engineering delivery.
- Managing internal & external interfaces (Client, Inter-departmental, Engineering-Subcontractor & Vendors) .
- Carry out survey and answer site queries.
- Review and check the work of design team.
- Assist in the preparation of CTR's and man-hour estimates.
- Attend meetings as and when required.
- Assist procurement and project engineering personnel in the procurement of equipment and materials.
- Liaise with other disciplines on design, construction and commissioning issues.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications:
- Minimum Qualifications:
- BSc, BEng or equivalent.
- Chartered engineer status preferred .

Minimum Experience:
- 14+ year of relevant experience in oil & gas industry.

Role-Specific Skills:
- Thorough awareness of relevant international codes and standards.
- Experience in brownfield jobs and FEED jobs.
- Experience in Vendor package management.
- Experience in EPC and PMC jobs.
- Experience in HAZOP, HAZID and QRA studies.
- Previous experience of working in the Middle East/ Iraq would be an advantage.
- Strong analytical skills including advanced analysis techniques.
- Familiar with the use of industry standards and codes.
- Reporting to Lead Pipeline Engineer.
- Able to demonstrate team working skills.
- An individual with strong drive and vision.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good Oral and effective communication skills.
- Must have good interpersonal skills and team player.
- Able to travel to Basra, Iraq as and when required.
