JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
- Commodity strategy design (over-arching sourcing strategy for all strategic sourcing in the commodity). Includes risk management and contingency & target setting.
- Design and negotiation of group-level framework sourcing agreements with the global suppliers of that commodity for the group.
- Develop, monitor and forecast of Key Performance Indicators for the Group commodity performance.
- Publish monthly results and forecast with comments on supply base assessment and external market analysis for relevant to assist Senior Management on supporting or changing commodity decisions.
- Maintaining and developing relevant commodity expertise through the research of periodicals, regular strategic meetings with key suppliers and following raw material price evolution.
- Identify key commodity suppliers, evaluate from a holistic perspective of price, delivery, risk & quality.
- Identify, evaluate & maintain a preferred global supplier list for the given commodity using Global Supplier performance ratings, - Customer approvals and overall supplier behavior.
- Interact with Cross functional teams to collaborate internally and with OEMs for design level changes/New product Development.
- Lead and supervise negotiations with the suppliers across parameters of total cost, risk, quality & delivery together with the Group Commodity teams.
- Maintain an understanding of industry dynamics and actively participate in industry events as required.
- Develop and oversee the implementation of Purchase strategies which underpin supplier sourcing recommendations for a nominated commodity.
- Create and publish Group Commodity Reports with analysis and justification to budget vs Actual and forecast spend and price variance data.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 5 years of Purchasing management/Global Commodity Management experience; preferably in an manufacturing or Automotive organization, across a multi-location, global business.
- Strong track record of driving global commodity sourcing for the specific / related commodity(ies).
- Managed $200M + (can be more/less depending on the commodity) in annualized spend in direct/indirect material.
- Exposure to Supplier Development principles.
- Demonstrated experience influencing senior executives.
- Proven results in managing and developing talent.
- Bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree and purchasing certifications preferred Excellent skills in Microsoft office Applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint. Strong written and spoken English
