JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
Charterhouse is working with an operational power plant who is looking to hire a Procurement Officer to be based in the UAE.
As the Procurement Officer, you will be responsible for negotiating with vendors to achieve the best possible price and service guaranteed for the materials and services. You will develop new supply sources in consultation with the technical departments whenever existing vendors cannot supply. You will also be responsible for compliance with departmental policies and procedures to ensure that jobs are carried out in a safe, controlled and consistent manner.
REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate should have a minimum of 5 years' experience within a relevant power / industrial role and have knowledge of procurement procedures. You should have an understanding of the local customs rules and regulations, local and international markets and rules for the disposal of scrap materials. You should also have experience of hiring contract labour as well as be computer literate, including ERP knowledge such as SAP or Maximo. As a minimum requirement, you should hold a Diploma and CIPS (Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply) is preferred.
