Overview of the role
The product executive plays a vital role in supporting the product manager to drive the development and execution of product strategies. This includes managing the complete product life cycle, coordinating with sales channels, and collaborating with vendors for efficient procurement. The role requires strong analytical capability to build category insights, track industry trends, and maintain productive vendor relationships to enhance sourcing strategies. A key focus is leveraging market intelligence and competitor analysis to influence strategic decisions, improve gross margins, and ensure product availability across the organization.
What you will do:
- Support the product manager in developing and executing strategies for assigned product categories to achieve business objectives.
- Manage the entire product life cycle — from strategy, planning, and implementation to performance analysis.
- Coordinate with sales channels to align supply planning with sales forecasts and ensure seamless availability.
- Collaborate with vendors to maintain strong relationships, negotiate favorable terms, and ensure effective procurement of OES and IAM parts.
- Develop and implement unique selling propositions (USPs) and marketing initiatives for pricing, catalogues, and new product launches.
- Build actionable category insights by analyzing market trends, customer data, and competitor activity.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all OES/IAM parts sources to strengthen strategic sourcing.
- Establish operational partnerships with suppliers and traders to optimize sourcing efficiency and negotiate competitive pricing.
- Support the product manager with strategic and tactical decision-making through market intelligence and vendor data.
- Monitor competition data, lost sales, and demand trends to identify revenue opportunities and enhance product portfolio performance.
- Work closely with material management to ensure optimal stock levels and a high service rate.
- Track and manage system parameters in line with sales and operations planning (S&OP).
Required skills to be successful:
- In-depth knowledge of OES/IAM parts sourcing and supplier networks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
- Proven experience in vendor relationship management and effective negotiation.
- Results-driven mindset with the ability to work under pressure and deliver measurable outcomes.
What qualifies you for the role:
- A degree in business, engineering, or a related technical field (preferred).
- Strong expertise in the passenger car aftermarket parts industry.
- 3–4 years of relevant experience with an original equipment supplier or a major aftermarket vendor.
- Excellent analytical, evaluation, and interpretation skills.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to implement best practices and enhance operational productivity.
