Our client established in the UAE more than 15 years ago has seen impressive growth and demand for their products and services.

Delivering a range of design options and tailor made building materials to major projects across the GCC including Meydan, Dubai Metro, Salalah Airport, Doha International Airport, etc

Due to an increase in projects, we are seeking a Production Manager for their operations in Sharjah

Key role is responsibility for and active involvement in all production activities from the pre-production (planning) stage through the production (control and supervision) stage.

Provide direction on production priorities and work with supervisors and shift managers to meet production and profitability goals.

Identify opportunities for improving production outcomes, remove obstacles to operator performance and resolve conflicts or uncertainty.

Primary function:
- Production budget, ensuring proper resourcing and requisite levels of profitability are maintained.
- Close collaboration with Engineering, Production Support (Supply Chain and Logistics) is a critical part of the role to ensure manufactured parts meet specifications, are produced on time, and are prepared for shipment as requested by the customer.

Organizational Relationships and Authority

Reporting directly to the MD Remote Operations. Your direct reports include:
- Shift Supervisors
- Production Support Staff
- Operatives

Key Responsibilities:
- Achieving profitability by providing clear daily production goals and support to make sure every Shift Supervisor is safely meeting production, quality and efficiency goals daily.
- Prepare Performance Plans for each direct report that clearly articulates expectations for production outcomes, safety performance, and work center hygiene that will result in the company achieving its monthly, quarterly and annual goals.
- Meet weekly with Production Support Manager to develop Production Plan by reviewing Capacity Plan and MRP for raw material shortages.
- Evaluate on time delivery of raw material with Buyer and develop action items to address deficiencies.
- Meet Daily with Shift Supervisors to discuss and review production performance improvement. (Metrics)
- Collaborate with the MD, Accounting and Information Analyst to refine production metrics to accurately and meaningfully reflect work center activities and performance to enable adjustments to activities to improve performance.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Machine Maintenance team to develop maintenance schedules that assure 95% uptime on all machines throughout the facility and avoid compromising production.
- Develop and maintain a Remote Facilities Budget.
- Advise executives on latest equipment technology to place the organization in a situation for long term growth.
- Develop visual controls for the production floor, including a 5S scorecard for each department, Production Supervisors standard work, and hourly goal charts at all work-centers.
- Work to reduce burden cost by consistently reviewing the perishable supply items and recruiting new options
- Ensure that the resources i.e. machinery, tools, workers, etc. are efficiently deployed and closely monitor them to ensure timely completion of given tasks
- Review overall progress of project with the site supervisor, project engineer on a daily basis.

REQUIREMENTS

- Bachelors Degree in Engineering with emphasis on Production / Industrial
- Previous experience in Metal / Glass / Steel works would an advantage
- Experienced in managing an operation with a portfolio of AED 50million to AED 80million is the bench mark
- Possess excellent leadership skills and prepared to be hands-on
- Candidates currently in the UAE are preferred
