JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

A new opportunity has risen for a well-known event management organization situated in Abu Dhabi. They are seeking out a Programming Manager to be of assistance to the Director of Programming and Production. Your responsibilities would include but are not limited to:

• Communicate with director of programming and production, the founder, and all departments in the organization.
• Communicate with local, regional and international artists, festivals and theatres, agents and artists management companies, leading international organizations in the arts and culture.
• Research and monitor activities of key regional and international festivals, theatres and cultural organizations.
• Research and identify regional and international artistic opportunities in cooperation with the Director of Programming and Production.
• Festival planning information i.e. competitor festivals schedules
• Market analysis: overviews of which artists’ and projects are available and being booked.
• Details of general networking and conference opportunities within the performing arts world.
• Source artistic content for the Festival
• Explore and develop international commissions and productions opportunities.
• Identify local, regional and international conferences to attend.
• To support the Director of Programming and Production in filing incoming and outgoing artistic related correspondence documents, artistic proposals and content, and maintain an effective filing system – both electronic and hard copies as required.
• Manage artist relations for all artists appearing in the main and education program in Abu Dhabi.
• Execute all the event performances outside the UAE.
• Attend meetings with the Director of Programming and Production and The Founder, making sure complete pre-meeting agenda, notes and preliminary researches are prepared and briefed to the them ahead of time; and take minutes of meetings.

REQUIREMENTS

To be considered for the role, you must meet the following criteria:

• Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Arts, Culture or Event Management, preferably Master’s Degree or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years or more of relevant experience in an international Arts & Cultural / public / private sector organization.
• Willing to work longer than normal working hours (9:00AM to 6:00PM, Sunday – Thursday)
