Reporting To: Project Manager
Executive Summary
The Senior Project Engineer serves as the primary technical link between project design and site execution. This role is designed for a multi-disciplinary construction professional with 8–10 years of experience who possesses a holistic understanding of Civil, MEP, and Architectural finishes. The successful candidate will ensure technical cohesion across all trades, maintain rigorous quality standards on-site, and manage the critical path via MS Project.
Key Responsibilities
I. Technical Coordination & Multi-Trade Oversight
• Interdisciplinary Integration: Review and reconcile Civil, MEP, and Architectural drawings to identify and resolve design conflicts prior to execution.
• Trade Management: Supervise the seamless sequencing of sub-contractors, ensuring that structural civil works and MEP installations are perfectly synchronized with final carpentry and fit-out phases.
• Engineering Problem Solving: Act as the on-site authority for technical troubleshooting, providing immediate, buildable solutions to complex field issues.
II. Site Operations & Quality Assurance
• Quality Control (QC): Establish and enforce stringent quality benchmarks for all trades, conducting regular inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications and building codes.
• On-Site Supervision: Lead the daily site activities, ensuring sub-contractor performance meets the high craftsmanship standards of the firm.
• Safety Leadership: Ensure all site operations strictly adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) protocols.
III. Project Planning & Administration
• Critical Path Management: Develop, maintain, and update comprehensive project timelines using MS Project, ensuring all milestones are met.
• Procurement Strategy: Coordinate with the supply chain to track long-lead MEP and specialized carpentry materials, mitigating risks of site delays.
• Documentation: Manage the RFI (Request for Information) process, submittals, and technical logs, providing clear and concise reporting to the Project Manager.
Requirements:
• Experience: 8–10 years of progressive experience in construction contracting, with a demonstrated ability to manage diverse trades (Civil, MEP, and Interior Works).• Technical Proficiency: Mastery of construction methodologies across multiple disciplines; ability to interpret complex MEP schematics and structural drawings with ease.
• Software Competency: Advanced proficiency in MS Project and Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with AutoCAD or BIM software is highly desirable.
• Leadership: Strong communication skills with the ability to manage sub-contractors firmly and professionally, while acting as a reliable deputy to the Project Manager.
