Job description
The candidate will report to the design director and will be responsible for managing project programme delivery schedule, project progress reporting, client engagement, local project office management, and fee collection.
He/she will be responsible for the success of the project from administrative and programme perspectives. He/she will be responsible for stakeholder management. He/she is also responsible for closely working with the technical team and project delivery team, ensuring compliance with respect to the contractual obligations as well as providing effective guidance on technical delivery to the project team as and when necessary.
Responsible for managing the setup of all project management systems and documents, ensures technical staff are appointed and roles and responsibilities of each team member are well defined, and reporting lines and communications are established. Responsible for successful delivery of the assigned scope of works from inception to final implementation including quality, time, cost, and technical alignment with client sectors and procedures.
The incumbent will role model SJ values, ethics, and code of conduct and ensure all project delivery activities are carried out in accordance with these guiding principles.
Requirements
- Minimum 20 years relevant experience in the field of programme and contract management for regional planning, urban planning, or development planning projects.
- Must have experience in client and contractual management and stakeholder management.
- Must have experience in administering contract(s) for large scale planning projects.
- The ideal candidate will have a master's degree in regional planning, urban planning, or development planning and an advanced degree in project management or PMP certification would be an advantage.
- International experience working in the field of development planning in several countries, preferably in the Gulf region.
- Experience in implementation of master plans is required.
- Experience in project leadership, contractual management, fee collection, and conflict resolution.
- Excellent communication skills in Arabic and English are a must.
- Willingness to relocate to Oman for the project duration.
