JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
Our client is a well established multi national leader in the events industry who describe their mission as solving their clients' key challenges and shape their tomorrow through Live and Virtual events, Strategic and Digital communications, Consulting and Community solutions.
They are looking for a Projects Manager to oversee the development, execution, and delivery of projects and is expected to manage or contribute to approximately 4 to 8 projects per year, from proposal through delivery, debrief, and final reconciliation, ensuring alignment with the client's requirements. The role may be focused on specific areas (such sponsorship & exhibition management) for some larger mandates.
Leadership & Relationship Management
- Establish, nurture, and maintain strong client relationships to ensure the retention of existing business while identifying and developing new opportunities.
- Provide leadership, direction and support to the project team whilst maintaining motivation and enthusiasm to successfully deliver the project
- Strive for exceptional customer service and high-quality project delivery.
- Represent the Middle East company as well as the broader group, when necessary or appropriate
- Manage supplier/partner relationships and actively see opportunities and cross sell the clients product practices
Project Management
- Deliver congress and conference events on time within budget and meet and exceed client’s expectations
- Actively set, communicate and maintain timelines and priorities on every project
- Manage operational and administrative functions as required to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of specific projects
- Travel to onsite inspections and attend and project-manage events as required
- Efficiently manage RFP and contracting for range of partners & suppliers according to specifications of each individual mandate.
- Provide marketing support functions and lead design efforts for branding initiatives, among other tasks.
Finance
- Be fully responsible for all project budgets from conception through to reconciliation Admin, IT & Tools
- Pro-actively report up on development of projects to the Operations Director
- Monitor and maintain quality and adherence to processes, identifying and contributing to their improvement
- Support sponsorship sales activities and follow up
- Support Abstract Management related activities and follow up
- Manage check-lists and procedures as part of a constant evolution to thrive excellence
- Actively participates in Department meetings and proactively contributes to the evolution of the profession
Requirements:
- You must have events management experience and be used to managing a team of people in high pressure environments- Works under the supervision of the Operations Director
- Leads a team attributed by the Operations Director on a non- exclusive basis (the team also works for other Project Managers)
- Leads and trains Project Coordinators and Project Assistants
Job Requirements
- Education: Great ease in IT environment, Project Management and Client Management
- Advanced knowledge and use of IT tools, mainly Microsoft
- Necessity to learn and find solutions, to plan and organise, to make quick and sensible judgements, to actively and effectively communicate, to manage and develop manpower and events, to be customer and result minded
- English: mandatory, other languages: advantage
- Personality: flexible, calm, very organised, management of stress, manage overtime during certain peak periods, capable of managing several projects / clients at the same time
- Minimum 4 - 6 years relevant experience with project management responsibilities
- Awareness of event risk assessment and health and safety implications
- Good destination knowledge of major congress destinations with our region
- Proven track record in account/project management of events
- Experience in budget monitoring and management
- Proven track record of managing large scale projects in a service environment
- Availability and willingness to travel
Technical Skills
- Perfect skills in Microsoft Office tools mandatory
- Advanced skills with Word and Excel - (Pivot Table – Dynamic tables for Excel)
- Ease with learning and using new IT & digital tools
Salary:
AED
12,000 to 14,000
per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
