Regional HR Manager - Middle East

Reporting to the Managing Director of Operations for the Middle East and Africa region and functionally reporting to the Vice President HR. Hotel General Managers are your key stakeholders and the hotel HR Managers will functionally report to you. You will also be a member of the extended global Human Resources team and co-operate on both the development of new global HR initiatives as well as the roll-out within the region.

The role includes extensive travel to support existing hotels and new openings, ensuring best practice sharing and consistent application of HR tools as well as a knowledge of regional talent.

The key responsibilities of the Regional HR Manager MEA are:
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders in the organisation;
- Develop a deep understanding for the business, in order to manage change and create a strategic HR Agenda suited to drive talent acquisition & development, high performance, employee engagement, and organisational effectiveness;
- Personally oversee the first stage of pre-opening projects for new hotels and establishing the required HR frameworks and resource plans;
- Work within the corporate HR team to develop global HR tools and processes and implement global HR initiatives regionally;
- Help to build a strong regional senior management team by developing talent and leadership pipelines through implementation of robust talent identification and development processes;
- Deliver a regional employer branding strategy and provide resourcing solutions;
- Provide HR Generalist support for the regional office team in Dubai;
- Coordinate Global Mobility for the expat population across the region adhering to corporate policy;
- Manage ad hoc HR projects with local teams, and develop local HR capability. Monitor the effectiveness of local HR delivery, identifying opportunities for improvement and developing strategic and operational solutions in line with current best practice;
- Deliver on reporting requirements to monitor achievement of strategic agenda;
- Be a team player and collaborate closely with colleagues in the global HR team.

REQUIREMENTS

- HR experience within multinational companies, ideally in the hospitality industry, with pre-opening hotel experience;
- A proven track record in improving results through developing and implementing an effective and innovative HR strategy to achieve business goals;
- Proficiency in oral and written English is a must;
- Working knowledge of Arabic and/or French highly desirable;
- Experience and desire to oversee a generalist HR function requiring sound HR expertise in the full end to end employee life cycle;
- Knowledge of Middle East labour law;
- Computer literate;
- Strong business acumen, analytical decision-making, an eye for detail, and strong problem-solving skills;
- Very strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to influence all levels of management and effectively manage teams and communication processes within an organisation with strong local differentiation;
- Experience in and enthusiasm for working effectively in a highly diverse cultural environment;
- Results orientated and able to manage change in a fast paced environment; ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines;
- A team player with a naturally ethical approach and a role model for professional integrity.
