JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
Job Description
- We're looking for a research assistant to work on a research project that involves automatic speech recognition (ASR) of Arabic dialects, particularly Gulf dialects (the candidate does not need to know Arabic, but it's a plus).
- The research involves applying and developing machine learning algorithms, including deep neural networks, and handling moderate to large amounts of speech and text data.
- The research assistant may later apply for the PhD program to continue working on this project or a related research in the area of speech and language understanding (or other AI subfields).
REQUIREMENTS
Ideally, the candidate should have
- Masters or Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related area (computer/electrical engineering, math & stats).
- Proficiency in Python
- Familiarity with machine learning concepts and toolkits.
- Academic writing skills in English
Minimum Qualification
- B.sc. in Computer Science or a related area (computer/electrical engineering, Math & Stats).
Preferred Qualification
- M.Sc.
