OPPORTUNITY

Parsons provides construction supervision consultancy to a flagship infrastructure project in Dubai, UAE. The planned development encompasses commercial districts linked by leisure developments that expand into further residential neighborhoods and parks in an area of approximately 400 hectares. Scope of work includes internal roads, external highway intersections, bridges, street lighting, electrical (HV and LV) networks, district cooling, potable water, sewerage, storm water drainage networks, waste management and other structures and infrastructure works.

JOB OVERVIEW

The Road Engineer reviews contractor’s submittals, responding to RFIs, ensuring timely reviews, visits the site, attends the weekly technical meetings, and follows up on non-conformance. He/she will support adherence to the correct implementation of the project quality plan, quality procedures and safety guidelines for all road-related type of works in accordance with the planned work on the construction site.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Reviews contractor submittals for all road and highway aspects of the construction phase with respect to adherence to the design criteria and required standards. Ensures contractor compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances.
Prepares responses on related RFIs.
Maintains an overall knowledge of drawings, specifications, general contracts and time schedules.
Reports to the Senior Engineer, Assistant Resident Engineer or Resident Engineer.
Directs, assists and monitors the performance of inspectors and surveyors as applicable.
Gives practical advice on constructional matters. Takes a pro-active approach in resolving site issues that may delay the construction schedule.
Keeps senior management informed as to changes made in the field to ensure timely processing of contract change orders. Assists in preparing change order documentation for structural components of the construction works.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be assigned.
