Currently, we are in search of a dynamic and passionate laboratory technician (secondary school) to join our highly accomplished secondary department.

The successful candidate will already be residing in Dubai.

The role:

As a laboratory technician, you will support the delivery of high-quality science lessons by preparing practical materials, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a safe and efficient laboratory environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Prepare and set up materials, equipment, and solutions for science lessons (biology, chemistry, and physics).
• Support teaching staff during practical lessons, where appropriate.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure resources are well-stocked.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures, including COSHH and CLEAPSS guidelines.
• Safely store and dispose of chemicals and biological materials.
• Keep an accurate inventory of equipment and supplies.
• Assist with the organisation of science displays and resources.

Person specification

Essential:

• A science-related qualification (e.g., GCSEs/A Levels or equivalent).
• Good demonstrable understanding of laboratory safety procedures.
• Good demonstrable understanding of CLEAPSS guidance and compliance.
• Organised, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.

Desirable:

• Previous experience working in a school or laboratory setting.
• IT literacy (Microsoft Office, inventory systems, Google Suite).
