JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
GMM Group of companies is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, preparing financial reports, and ensuring accurate and timely quarterly tax filings. This role requires strong organisational skills, a keen eye for detail, and proficiency in accounting principles and software.
Bookkeeping:
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions.
• Record accounts payable and accounts receivable entries.
• Reconcile bank statements and ensure discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner.
• Process payroll and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
• Manage petty cash and expense reimbursements.
Financial Reporting:
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Analyse financial data and provide insights to support decision-making.
• Generate various financial reports for management review.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Quarterly Tax Filings:
• Prepare and file quarterly tax returns accurately and on time.
• Calculate estimated tax liabilities and make necessary payments.
• Keep abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
• Assist in tax planning strategies to minimise liabilities.
• Respond to tax notices and inquiries from tax authorities.
Audit Support:
• Assist in the preparation of documentation and schedules for audits.
• Coordinate with auditors and provide necessary information and explanations.
• Ensure compliance with audit requirements and address any audit findings.
Process Improvement:
• Identify opportunities for process improvements in bookkeeping, reporting, and tax filing.
• Implement efficiency-enhancing measures to streamline workflows.
• Stay updated on accounting software and tools to optimise productivity.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is a MUST.
• Proven experience as an Accountant or Bookkeeper.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Analytical mindset and problem-solving abilities.
• CPA certification preferred and would be a plus.
• Proficiency in accounting and reporting software such as Xero and Syft would be a plus.
• Experience with the VAT and the CT tax preparation and filing in the UAE is a plus.
• Russian language is an advantage, but not a requirement.
