Job description & summary
At PwC, our people in tax services focus on providing advice and guidance to clients on tax planning, compliance, and strategy. These individuals help businesses navigate complex tax regulations and optimise their tax positions.
In indirect tax at PwC, you will focus on value-added tax (VAT), goods and services tax (GST), sales tax and other indirect taxes. Your work will involve providing advice and guidance to clients on indirect tax planning, compliance, and strategy, helping businesses navigate complex indirect tax regulations and optimise their indirect tax positions.
The UAE has launched its national eInvoicing mandate based on the Peppol 5-corner model, which will progressively require businesses to issue and receive electronic invoices through Accredited Service Providers (ASPs). This reform is reshaping how companies manage their tax compliance, IT infrastructure, and finance operations.
PwC Middle East supports both private and public sector clients in preparing for these changes, ensuring regulatory compliance, and unlocking opportunities through digital tax transformation.
While this role will primarily focus on eInvoicing, it may also expand in the future to cover other areas such as tax engine implementation, support for additional tax obligations in the UAE, and broader projects at the intersection of tax and technology.
Role and responsibilities
As a Senior Associate, you will work closely with Managers and Directors to deliver client projects across the UAE. You will be involved in:
-
Impact assessment
Conducting current-state assessments and gap analyses against UAE eInvoicing and tax reporting regulations.
Evaluating impacts on processes (AP, AR), IT architecture, data, and VAT compliance.
Preparing structured recommendations and high-level roadmaps. -
Solution design & partner selection
Supporting the design of target operating models and solution architectures.
Preparing RFPs and evaluation frameworks for ASP selection.
Benchmarking service providers and advising clients on final choices. -
Implementation support
Gathering business and functional requirements from finance and IT teams.
Drafting functional specifications for ERP and tax technology solutions.
Coordinating project phases including design, build, testing, deployment, and change management.
Supporting training and adoption efforts within client organizations. -
Thought leadership & internal development
Contributing to PwC Middle East’s tax technology knowledge base and internal initiatives.
Supporting business development activities such as proposal preparation, client presentations, and events.
Mentoring Associates and Interns within the team.
