JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
We seek a highly skilled and experienced Senior Commercial Manager to join a tier-one contractor based in the UAE. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a strong background in commercial management and a passion for delivering excellence in construction projects.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all commercial aspects of main contractor building projects in the UAE, including cost management, procurement, contract administration, and risk management.
- Lead and mentor a team of commercial professionals to ensure effective project delivery and client satisfaction.
- Develop and implement commercial strategies to optimise project profitability and mitigate risks.
- Collaborate with project management teams to provide commercial support and guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure favourable terms and conditions for the company.
- Monitor project budgets, cash flow, and financial performance to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Provide accurate and timely commercial reporting to senior management, highlighting key financial and contractual issues and recommending solutions.
- Stay updated with industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and competitive advantage.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., MRICS) is a plus.- Proven track record of at least 8 years in commercial management within the construction industry, focusing on main contractor building projects.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement processes, and cost control principles.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
- Exceptional negotiation and communication abilities, with a demonstrated capability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make strategic decisions to drive project success.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools such as MS Excel, cost management software, and project management systems.
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and adapt to the local business practices and regulations in the UAE.
Salary:
AED
50,000 to 55,000
per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
