Position title: Senior Electrical Designer
Company: KBR Corporate - In-house Engineering
Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE

Job purpose

  • Execute electrical design activities within concept, FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) and detail engineering for oil & gas projects.
  • Ensure high-quality, safe, and timely delivery of electrical design and related deliverables in accordance with project requirements, international codes, and standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and coordinate with multi-discipline teams and clients.

Key job responsibilities

  • Independently perform the electrical design scope drawings for concept, FEED and detail engineering phases.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards and project specifications.
  • Ensure engineering integrity, quality assurance and document control for all electrical related deliverables.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, toolbox talks, and knowledge sharing.
  • Support field execution and construction activities as needed, including site visits when required and as-built documentation.
  • Independently develop complex electrical designs, equipment layouts, plot plans, and general arrangement drawings. Utilize advanced 3D modeling software like PDMS, E3D, SP3D, or AutoCAD to create detailed models and drawings.
  • Review and provide comments on vendor drawings to ensure compatibility with the overall design.

Experience

  • 15+ years of experience and proven track record in delivering onshore and offshore electrical deliverables in concept, FEED and detail engineering and EPCM experience in the oil & gas industry.
  • Previous ADNOC EPC experience, familiarity with ADNOC procedures and requirements is highly preferred.
  • Highly capable and efficient in preparing (hands-on) all onshore electrical engineering drawings independently and simultaneously working on multiple projects. Owns assigned tasks with high degree of responsibility. Flexibility and adaptability to maneuver dynamic and evolving project environment.
  • Experience in layout, schedules and other electrical deliverables.

Education & qualifications

  • Diploma in electrical
  • Relevant 2D and 3D software proficiency (PDMS, E3D, SP3D, or AutoCAD Plant 3D)

Technical skills

  • Strong knowledge of drafting standards and industry applicable norms.
  • Proficient in relevant codes and standards.
  • Experience with 3D design and visualization tools and 2D drafting.
