JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
Our Multi National Project & Commercial Management Consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced Senior Landscape Architect to join their team in Abu Dhabi to work on major new masterplan and urban development projects in the UAE. Successful candidates will have experience as a Senior Landscape Architect ideally with a recognised developer, PMC or consultancy company background.
This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire permanent role employed by our client.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic direction and vision for the landscape architecture division, ensuring team objectives align with company goals and client expectations.
- Lead the conceptualization, design development, and execution of complex landscape architecture projects, incorporating site analysis, cultural context, and sustainability principles.
- Effectively manage design teams, resources, and budgets to deliver projects on time, within scope, and within budget, while upholding high-quality design standards.
- Serve as the primary liaison for clients, stakeholders, and project partners, fostering strong relationships and ensuring clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Oversee the execution of design concepts, presentations, and documentation, when produced by external design parties, ensuring they align with the client’s vision, project requirements, and industry best practices.
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities to junior and mid-level staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning within the team.
- Collaborate and lead the multidisciplinary teams, including architects, engineers, planners, and environmental specialists, to seamlessly integrate landscape design into larger development projects.
- Lead business development initiatives, including proposal preparation, client presentations, and networking activities, to expand the company’s portfolio and market presence in landscape architecture.
- Stay informed about emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in landscape architecture and urban design, contributing to thought leadership and innovation within the industry.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, codes, and standards governing landscape architecture projects in the Middle East region, and proactively manage project risks.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture or related field.- 10 years of Landscape Architecture experience, at least 5 years of experience in the Middle East.
- Experience working for PMC, Consultancy or Developer clients required.
- Strong project management skills, including experience in overseeing project teams, budgets, and schedules to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, with the capacity to inspire, motivate, and empower team members to reach their full potential.
- Experience in Autodesk Revit, Lumion, Auto CAD, and other drawing-based design programs.
- Demonstrate knowledge of landscape architectural design principles and practices.
- Knowledge of landscape architectural design principles such as materials and methods, urban design, elements of 'good' design, form, function, circulation, context, and design standards and codes.
- Ability to independently evaluate, select and modify standard landscape architectural techniques, procedures, and criteria.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
- Demonstrate ability to organize and coordinate projects.
- Demonstrate ability to work effectively in a diverse work environment individually and collaboratively.
- Good knowledge of the local Flora and Fauna of the UAE and KSA.
- Good knowledge of local materials and availability, regional construction technology, and standards of practice.
- Lead internal discipline coordination meetings.
