JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
Synopsis
As Etihad continues the fast-paced growth towards Journey 2030, a new role has been created. The Senior Manager, Network Strategy will lead a team to drive and manage the strategic projects within the Network & Scheduling area to optimize the profitability production of Etihad, including the development and implementation of future tools for the area. In addition to these, the Senior Manager will be responsible for driving the airport incentives from the Network Planning side, providing guidance to the procurement team.
Accountabilities
- Lead a team of 2 managers responsible for driving strategic projects in the Network Planning and Scheduling area.
- Promote a healthy work environment and focus on team development.
- Manage day-to-day strategic projects in the Network and Scheduling area to drive revenue and cost efficiencies in the Network to improve profitability.
- Live and breathe and be able to articulate Etihad's hub structure, leveraging the Network and Scheduling teams to drive improvements in fleet utilization and connecting flows.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders across multiple business units, identifying strategic growth areas, connecting strategies and scheduling efficiencies.
- Develop business cases and recommendations for new initiatives to drive profitability.
- Create and secure innovative tools and processes in the Network and Scheduling area to create competitive advantage.
- Drive automation in the Network and Scheduling area to remove repetitive tasks from day-to-day operations.
- Manage the airport incentives with the support of Procurement to engage with Etihad's airport partners to conclude financial support packages to improve route profitability.
- Manage the relationship with Abu Dhabi Airports.
Education & Experience
- Minimum Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business or Engineering (post-graduate qualifications are an advantage).
- Minimum 10 years' experience in commercial strategy and planning, finance or operations research/planning, with a proven ability to manage cross-functional projects with a high degree of interaction and communication across all levels in the organization, and to engage, motivate and develop a high performing team.
