Senior Planning Engineer

Job Description

One of our leading construction industry clients in the UAE is looking for a senior planning engineer who performs several tasks including assisting the project team with developing plans for a new project. The planning engineer should also be involved in planning and scheduling.

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Must be knowledgeable of both MS Project and Primavera (P6) scheduling software and how it can be effectively utilized on the project.
• Responsible for developing dashboards and reports.
• Responsible for developing a fully cost and resource loaded project baseline program and planning deliverables in coordination with all the stakeholders as per contract requirements.
• Responsible for developing progress reports and meeting presentations for the projects which include but are not limited to program updates, KPI curves, progress S-curve, progress forecast, progress tracking sheets, progress monitoring sheets, progress mark-ups, construction progress sequences, etc.
• Monitoring and controlling the project baseline programs.
• Manage subcontractors and review subcontractors' programme of works.
• Attend meetings with client and the project team as required.
• Prepare updated, revised recovery, time impact, or target program of works as required for the projects.
• Prepare contractual correspondences to client, consultant, and subcontractors which include but are not limited to delay notices, notices for claims, etc.
• Expert in preparing extension of time claims and reviewing subcontractors' EOT claims.
• Earned value analysis, KPI, cost, and resource reports generated from the Primavera P6 software.
• Evaluate and forecast project progress and performance.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:

• Minimum 10 years of experience as a senior planning engineer in the construction industry infrastructure, preferably in piling and foundation works.
• Proficient in Primavera P6, MS Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to prepare professional-level reports and presentations.
• Power BI knowledge and experience is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of project management principles and foundation engineering concepts.
• Strong planning and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and project specifications.
• Good written and verbal communication skills for reporting and coordination.
• Might have to travel for work purposes to Abu Dhabi at times for projects.
• Excellent skills in written and oral communication in English with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Capable of effective coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
