Job summary
The senior planning engineer is responsible for the overall scheduling, progress monitoring, and reporting of projects from inception to handover. You will act as the bridge between the site execution team and senior management, providing data-driven insights to ensure project timelines are met. You must be an expert in logic-linking complex activities and managing the critical path in a high-pressure environment.
Core responsibilities
- Scheduling and baseline management
- Progress monitoring and performance
- Coordination and authority management (UAE specific)
- Reporting and communication
- Claims and forensic planning
Qualifications and requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering (civil, mechanical, or electrical)
- Software skills: Expert in Primavera P6 (EPPM/PPM)
- Advanced MS Excel (for complex dashboards and data manipulation)
- Familiarity with Power BI for automated reporting is a strong plus
- Professional experience: 7 years of total experience in planning, with at least 3 years of experience within the UAE
- Certifications: PMP or PSP (Planning & Scheduling Professional) is highly preferred
- Legal: Must be a member of the UAE Society of Engineers
