JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

Our client, an event management organization, is currently looking for a Senior Production Manager to be based in Abu Dhabi. In this role, you will be responsible for managing leading the identification, preparation and management of Festival, arts and cultural events.

Other responsibilities will include but not limited to:

• Oversee employees in the Production Department/Section in performing their delegated tasks
• Delegate and monitor the Department functional goals, objectives and programs
• Prepare reports on the overall performance of the Production Department/Section for the Founder
• Review and quality assure all services and work-products delivered by the Department
• Ensure that the performance of various tasks and the conduct of the staff in the Department/Section are in accordance with the company policies and procedures
• Identify required skills and knowledge and nominate his / her staff to attend appropriate training programs in order to acquire them (in coordination with HR Section)
• Ensure availability of required resources to carry out all the tasks related to the Production Department /Section
• Perform periodic performance appraisals for Department employees, addressing and resolving any areas of concern, as well as clearly outlining long-term career objectives
• Identify and recruit the required external experts, advisors, consultants, etc. needed to support Department/Section goals and activities
• Support all other departments/sections in producing and executing a world class level event.
• Oversee the alignment of festival/events with education and community development programs in coordination with the Education & Community Department/Section
• Along with the Artistic Director and Head of Programming and Cultural Affairs, support all event planning , costing and logistical planning.
• Support the Artistic Director and Head of Programming and Cultural Affairs in the identification of artists/talent that are to perform in the Festival or local/international cultural events
• Approve all technical riders, ensuring all requirements are met and quotes are within the budgets allocated
• Direct, negotiate and oversee the identification of venue, suppliers and advertising outlets/platforms to be utilized to show case the Festival or local/international cultural events
• Manage the identification of contingency/mitigating measures to be adopted for any potential risks
• Gain management buy-in and approval and generate the required budgeting for the smooth execution of the festival/event
• Manage the preparation of the festival/event budget and viability report and manage and allocate the program budget accordingly
• Review and confirm invoices received and ensure Department /Section submission to Accounts for timely payment, ensuring cash flow is maintained accurately for the duration of the Festival
• Direct and oversee the identification of critical knowledge sharing elements and ensure the proper documentation of the same
• Review and approve new venue options and arrange site visits to assess the feasibility and viability of using alternative locations
• Direct and oversee the resource and infrastructure mobilization and allocation exercise
• Direct and oversee the rehearsals, logistics, accommodation and security of the key external stakeholders (artists, VIP audiences, program supporters, etc)
• Manage and direct Front of House’s smooth operation during events/Festival, ensuring the event running order is adhered to and followed at all times
• Direct and oversee pre-festival/event launch quality check ensuring all elements are in place prior to the launch
• Direct and oversee the execution, implementation and on-going management of the festival/event
• Oversee the management of all program initiatives including receptions, parties, dinners and other special events
• Monitor and evaluate the Festival or local/international cultural event against pre-determined program objectives
• Support all Royal Family requirements, ensuring all protocol procedures and policies are correctly adhered to and enforced, whilst maintaining confidentiality as required
• Oversee all purchasing requirements, ensuring all documentation has been correctly submitted and giving final approval on the supplier of choice
• Attend all senior level department meetings, creating detailed proposals and giving presentations as required
• Provide continuous update and reports to the Founder and Line Manager on the progress of all work under his / her control.
• Perform other tasks related to the Production Department/Section as they arise and as delegated by the Line Manager, Management and the Founder.

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of Bachelors’ Degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Event Management or equivalent
• Minimum of 7 to 10 years’ experience in event management setting within a public/private sector entity, preferably within the sector of arts and culture
• Knowledge of best practices.
• Proven skills managing even / exhibition production and / or installation.
