JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
The opportunity
Project: To work on a regeneration scheme for a large mixed-use development that will host entertainment and sporting events.
Responsible for leading and managing a project, or part thereof, providing advice to the client in planning the project, including design, procurement, project controls and delivery, managing relationships with the client and other project stakeholders, provide advice to the client to enable him to make key project decisions in a timely manner, and ensure these are suitably administered, develop the project execution plan, ensure it is agreed with project stakeholders, and ensure that all relevant parties you lead and supervise also understand these project objectives in your day to day management of the project, plan, manage and monitor the project, reporting any areas of concerns in a timely manner.
Your responsibilities will include
• Managing and being accountable for your scope of work on the project.
• Managing your subordinates in a professional, inclusive and caring manner.
• Establishing the project execution plan and leading and supervising the relevant project team/parties to achieve these objections.
• Managing matters in relation to Health, safety, and wellbeing on the project at all stages.
• Managing the planning and monitoring of the progress of your project.
• Preparing necessary project plans and keeping them updated and relevant over the course of the project.
• Ensuring project budgets are managed.
• Ensuring quality systems are in place and suitably managed and monitored.
• Managing relevant meetings and site walks and ensuring these are suitably recorded.
• To be actively involved in risk management.
• Communication with all project parties/stakeholders and ensuring suitable records are maintained.
• Managing by example working collaboratively and always in an inclusive manner.
REQUIREMENTS
About you
• You have good project planning skills & understanding on both time and budgets, good knowledge of HSE rules and regulations and a proactive approach
• Suitable technical qualification relevant to the specific project / role, good skills in communicating and presenting, good commercial awareness, good project controls skills
• Good understanding of design processes and authority requirements to be able to lead forums with related project stakeholders
• Good understanding of industry best practice, you are a strong communicator & presenter, collaborator and team player always acting inclusively whilst leading by example
• A strong leader able to persuade and influence teams, able to interface with clients and stakeholders at all times in line Mace core values, strong skills in problem solving, creative and innovative on proactive in utilising new technology and exploring a ‘better way’, mindful of Mace sustainability and social responsibility goals as you fulfil your role and make plans and decisions, and you will recommend ways to resolve any issues as they arise
• Will produce and manage accurate records for all project issues as required
• Will at all times comply with Mace processes and procedures and deliver our services in line with Mace core values, relevant major programme or stadia experience required.
