Senior Quantity Surveyor

JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Dubai, UAE. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quantity surveying and a proven track record of successfully managing the financial and contractual aspects of construction projects. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in ensuring cost efficiency, accurate budgeting, and adherence to contractual requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee all financial and contractual aspects of construction projects from inception to completion
- Conduct cost estimates, budget preparation, and cost control throughout the project lifecycle
- Evaluate and negotiate contractual terms and conditions with clients, contractors, and suppliers
- Prepare and review tender documents, contracts, and variations to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to provide accurate and timely cost advice and reporting
- Conduct risk assessment and mitigation strategies related to cost and contracts
- Monitor and track project progress, costs, and variations to ensure alignment with the budget and contractual obligations
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior quantity surveyors and other team members

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field; RICS or similar professional certification is a plus
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry, with a minimum of 8 years in a similar role
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement, and project financial management
- Proficiency in cost estimating, budgeting, and cost control techniques and software
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail
- Familiarity with local construction regulations and practices in the UAE is highly desirable
- Ability to lead and mentor a team of quantity surveyors and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
