Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced senior resident engineer to join our team in Abu Dhabi. As a key member of our building construction management team, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of on-site engineering activities for a large-scale construction project.

Responsibilities:

Lead and coordinate all on-site engineering activities ensuring adherence to project specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.

Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders to resolve technical issues and maintain project timelines.

Review and approve construction methodologies, work plans, and technical submittals.

Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks to ensure compliance with design specifications and local building codes.

Manage and mentor junior engineers and technical staff on-site.

Prepare and present detailed progress reports identifying potential risks and proposing mitigation strategies.

Liaise with local authorities and regulatory bodies to obtain necessary permits and approvals.

Implement and maintain robust safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.

Analyze and optimize construction processes to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.

Minimum 15 years of experience as resident engineer or senior resident engineer with a focus on large-scale projects. Minimum total years of experience is 20 years.

Professional engineering (PE) license preferred or any equivalent.

Contract management and oversight practicing skills are a must.

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.

Extensive knowledge of construction methodologies, quality control processes, and safety regulations.

Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Strong project management skills with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.

In-depth understanding of the construction industry and local building codes in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Familiarity with UAE construction standards and practices.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.

Strong leadership and communication abilities with experience in managing and mentoring teams.

Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing project requirements.

Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus.
