JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
Senior Structural Engineer
Purpose of Role:
To lead a successful team of structural engineers and represent the company effectively in client interactions in Dubai.
Reports To: Structural Associate/Structural Director
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership:
• Lead and mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance and support.
• Oversee the structural design and analysis of a variety of building types (residential, commercial, etc.).
• Ensure the accurate and timely delivery of structural design deliverables.
• Maintain a high level of technical excellence and adherence to best practices.
Project Management:
• Manage and coordinate structural engineering aspects of projects from inception to completion.
• Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets.
• Monitor project progress and identify and resolve potential issues.
Client Management:
• Represent the company in client meetings and presentations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and consultants.
• Effectively communicate technical information to clients and stakeholders.
Code Compliance:
• Ensure compliance with all relevant local (UAE) and international building codes and regulations.
Quality Assurance:
• Implement and maintain quality control procedures throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure all work meets the highest standards of accuracy and quality.
Business Development:
• Contribute to business development activities by identifying and pursuing new project opportunities.
Requirements:
Qualifications & Experience:• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (Structural Emphasis) from an accredited university.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant professional experience in structural engineering.
• Minimum 4 years of professional experience in the UAE/ Dubai.
• Chartered membership with a recognized professional engineering institution (e.g., Institution of Structural Engineers) is highly preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of structural engineering principles and design methodologies.
• Strong understanding of local and international building codes (e.g., UAE, BS, Eurocodes).
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., STAAD Pro, ETABS, SAP2000, Tekla Structures).
