Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced senior structural engineer specializing in bridges and underpasses to join our team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. As a key member of our supervision team, you will play a crucial role in the construction supervision of major roadway projects including new highways, interchanges, and the upgrading or rehabilitation of existing roads.

Responsibilities:
- Report to the resident engineer and supervise and coordinate structural engineering activities on construction sites.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of RTA specifications.
- Supervise and mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Follow up on inspections for installations and review inspectors’ performance on a regular basis.
- Coordinate with project managers to resolve technical issues and optimize solutions.
- Conduct site visits to assess construction progress and address any structural concerns.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of structural elements with other project components.
- Prepare and present technical reports and recommendations to clients and stakeholders.
- Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and are completed within budget and schedule constraints.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in structural or civil engineering; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in structural engineering with a focus on bridges and underpasses (cut and cover).
- Comprehensive knowledge of RTA specifications and familiarity with construction of box girder bridges in UAE/Dubai.
- Strong understanding of international bridge design codes and standards.
- Demonstrated experience in developing QA/QC procedures for inspections and test plans.
- Excellent project management skills including the ability to lead a small team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- Familiarity with local construction practices and regulations in the UAE.
- RTA pre-approval is highly desirable.
- Middle East or UAE/Dubai experience preferred.
- Professional engineering license or equivalent certification is a plus.
